lyrics
Ten thousand times we'll drag our failing flesh
And trade our toil for pittances
Ten thousand times our dismal daily wages
You'll take and not be satiated
Ten thousand times we'll sell our sorry souls
And try to fill the gaping hole
Ten thousand times we might be born again
And not escape your cruel net
We will look upon your works, ye mighty, and despair.
Confronted with your endless greed, what hope for the biosphere?
The deserts will stretch from sea to empty sea
The silent spring, the reckoning, and finally we'll sleep
With hollow eyes we'll smile and we'll say yes sir, no sir
We'll take our paltry paychecks and go back to our drugs and scrolling
We'll populate the end-times with our disaffected children
We'll slouch towards the sickening dystopia you're building
The world world itself is holy
Every tree is it's own cathedral
And all of it is up for sale
The wild world itself is holy
Every tree is it's own cathedral
And all of it is up for sale
The wild world itself is holy
All of it is up for sale
A special stupid kind of evil
The wild world itself is holy
The wild world itself is holy
The wild world itself is holy
My soul recoils
My heart is broken

Merci Déhà for the download code. Lots of bands use these ingredients – pretty female vocals over doomy guitars always sounds good, but usually that's where the ideas run out. That isn't the case here. Each song is packed with ideas and evolutions, genres and references it's boring to list but not at all to listen to. A pleasure to have been introduced to this. Luke

What I like about Draken too is that the music is fierce but not too macho, aggressive but not dumb. The most important feature is masterfull riffage though, and writing songs that stick in your brain and make you yearn for the time you can bang your head along in front of the stage. I seriously can’t wait to see this live. Weirdo Shrine

Faerie Ring return and so does the RIFF, all caps. Faerie Ring take what would be a cookie cutter riff from anyone else and just JUICE it so thoroughly, with passion and energy and melodic interest and the all-important rhythmic groove (much more important to a good stoner riff than loud fuzz), that it just blows out your speaker and makes you mean mug. Guaranteed. I loved the wacky sounds they created in the studio that really push this over the edge from great into bonkers-great. pinkytheent
More cathartic, atmospheric heaviness from the German doom metallers, balancing no-nonsense hooks with proggy flourishes. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 14, 2023
